The German University in Cairo, GUC, is an Egyptian Private University
founded by the presidential decree 27/2002
according to the law number 101/1992 and its executive regulations number 355/1996.
German university in Cairo/Deutsche Universität in Kairo has been established in 2002 in cooperation with the State Universities of Ulm and Stuttgart, under the patronage of the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education, the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts, State of Baden- Württemberg, Germany, and supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Embassy in Cairo, the Arab/German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK), the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Germany, The State University of Tübingen and The State University of Mannheim.

The idea to establish the GUC was initiated by Prof. Ashraf Mansour, who studied at the Universität Ulm as a DAAD scholarship candidate and Alexander von Humboldt Laureate.

The German University in Cairo is a state-of-the-art international institute aims at offering the finest and the highest level of technical education in the fields of Engineering, Pharmaceutical Industry, Management, and Applied Arts. GUC is the first German university outside Germany that offers profound curricula and practical experience through conducting research in Egypt and in Germany. GUC operates highly advanced labs and offers extra-curricular activities that shapes international calibers. It is the only integrated German university outside Germany that has 3 Bologna cycles, namely B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D offering 71 study programs (31 undergraduate and 40 postgraduate).

Media MBA program
German University in Cairo and Deutsche Welle Akademie have collaborated on the creation of the first Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Media Management to be offered in Egypt. The MBA in Media Management is a unique program that offers young graduates an opportunity to expand their professional horizons and accelerate their career growth through specialized and advanced executive education in the management of television, radio, journalism, publishing, and entertainment organizations. The program creates the optimal balance between theoretical and practical education. The degree is issued by the German University in Cairo
The GUC Master Degree student Rania Elkalla earned the prestigious award to her work “Project Shell Homage, The Pebbles Hangers” in the Italian A’ Design Award & Competition in Furniture Accessories, Hardware and Materials Design category.
A’ Design Award aims to highlight the excellent
As a follow up to the GUC support to Upper Egypt governorates and calibers that started with a gift of a library and a Language Lab to Faculty of Alsun in Luxor during the German week in upper Egypt from 19-22 November 2016, GUC organized a capacity enhancement program for 90 candidates from Luxor ,Qena, and Menya governorates on effective leadership.

General Outlook
